Student to Teacher relationship
I expect clear and respectful communication between my students. This means that the student comes to me directly first with concerns, questions or complaints about class. I can't read your mind and I want to help you. If something is unclear or upsets you in class you must let me know as soon as possible.
Class Description: We will learn reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in English. Reading and writing projects will be a focus.
Projects Include: writing and reading log and/or presentations.
General Rules:
Do not talk when I am talking
Be on time, be prepared, be respectful and be responsible.
Everyone has the right to feel safe.
Everyone has the right to learn.
Everyone deserves respect.
Hard work is necessary for learning.
Preparation for Class: Students are responsible for bringing class materials to class including a pencil, notebook, homework and and relevant reading material and/or textbook to class.
Grading:
a) Projects, tests and quizzes = 50% daily work, journal, reading log= 30% participation = 20%. Failing is not an option - you will take the course again.
Late and Missed Work
a) Late work will not obtain 100%. The student is responsible for missed work, taking/obtaining (getting) notes, and missed information.
